What is this?

In venues you maintain all locations where your choir is active — the weekly rehearsal room, the community center for board meetings, the concert hall for performances, the hotel for the choir weekend. Once created, you can select each venue for any number of events.

Per venue you store:

  • Name (e.g. "Community center St. Mary''s")
  • Address (street, postal code, city, country)
  • Directions and public transport access
  • Parking notes
  • Room description
  • Seat plan (optional, for concert halls)
  • On-site contact (e.g. caretaker, parish office)

How to use the overview

  1. Go to Events > Ticketing > Venues.
  2. You see all created venues as a list or map.
  3. Click a venue to see details or edit.
  4. Create new venues via "+ New venue".
  5. Duplicate or delete venues via the three-dot menu per entry.

Where venues are used

  • Events: when creating you choose a venue from the list — address and description are automatically taken over.
  • Mobile app: members see directions and route info directly in the event.
  • Map integration: a tap opens the address in Google/Apple Maps.
  • Seat plans: for concerts you can assign members to specific seats.
  • Statistics: how often do you use which room?

Permission

You need the permission ensemble.edit to manage venues. By default the owner and choir director have this access. Other members can only see venues (via the event display).

Tips

  • Create recurring venues right at the start — rehearsal room, community center, possibly the main concert hall. That saves typing on every event.
  • Maintain directions carefully — especially for new members "rear entrance" or "please ring bell C" is gold.
  • Store an on-site contact if someone needs keys or the heating is broken.
  • Use seat plans only where they add value — for the weekly rehearsal usually overkill, for the annual concert very helpful.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I need venues?
So you can simply select the location when creating events instead of re-entering address and directions each time. Also they serve as basis for seat plans, directions and overviews in the app.
Can I use a venue for multiple events?
Yes. Once a venue is created, you can select it for any number of events. Address or directions changes automatically affect all events.
What is the difference between venue and seat plan?
The venue is the address — the seat plan is the seating inside the venue. A concert hall for example has a seat plan, the rehearsal room only an address.
