What is this?

Custom fields extend the standard event fields with your own club-specific information — for example directions, fee, dress code, on-site contact, GEMA-relevant data.

Examples of custom fields

  • Directions — route description or parking notes
  • Dress code — black/white, costume, club uniform
  • Fee — payment per performance (internal or transparent)
  • On-site contact — phone number of the organizer
  • GEMA notice — performance rights checked (yes/no)
  • Catering — food organized (yes/no)
  • Soundcheck time — when do you need to be there

How to use custom fields

Create fields (once per choir):

  1. Open the choir → Administration → Field management
  2. Click "New field"
  3. Choose type: text, number, date, select, yes/no
  4. Visibility: all members, board only, note only
  5. Required or optional, applicable to events, members or both

Fill in on the event:

  1. Open the event → Edit or directly in the custom fields section
  2. Enter field values
  3. Save — members see the values depending on visibility

Permission

Define fields: ensemble.edit (board). Fill fields per event: events.edit.

Tip

Keep the number of custom fields manageable — five well-maintained fields bring more than twenty empty ones. Better offer different fields per event type (rehearsal, performance).

Frequently asked questions

Where do I define new custom fields?
Under Choir > Administration > Field management you can create custom fields that are then available on every event.
Do members see the custom fields?
Yes, as long as the field is marked as "visible". Admin-only fields (for example internal notes) are hidden.
Can I make custom fields required?
Yes. You can mark fields as required when creating an event — for example "Fee" or "Dress code" for performances.
