What is this?

With Activate ticketing you open online ticket sales for an event. Visitors can comfortably buy tickets through a public order page, automatically receive their tickets as a PDF with a QR code by email — and on concert day you scan the codes with the Chorilo app.

How to activate ticketing

  1. Open the event for which you want to sell tickets.
  2. Click "Ticketing" in the event detail.
  3. Choose "Activate ticketing". The configuration starts.
  4. Set the sales data: sales start, sales end, maximum number of tickets, privacy notice.
  5. Define at least one ticket category — e.g. "Adults", "Reduced", "Children" each with its price.
  6. Optional: configure the seat layout if your concert has numbered seats.
  7. Save and publish. The public order page is reachable immediately — you can share the link on social media, in newsletters or on your website.

What is available after activation

  • Public order page with its own URL — reachable without a Chorilo account
  • Automatic ticket delivery by email after payment (PDF with QR code)
  • Order management in the event detail under "Orders"
  • QR scanner in the app for entry on concert day
  • Statistics on tickets sold, revenue and capacity
  • Payouts area to transfer the revenue to your association''s account

Permission

You need the events.edit permission to activate ticketing for an event. By default, the board and choir directors have this permission. For payouts to work, your ensemble must enter the bank details and any association data in the ensemble settings once.

Tips

  • Activate ticketing in time — ideally 6-8 weeks before the concert so buyers have time.
  • Plan categories cleanly: less is more. Three or four categories (Adults, Reduced, Children, Family ticket) usually suffice.
  • Use the sales end time sensibly — e.g. "1 hour before the concert starts", so last-minute buyers also have a chance.
  • Test the order process yourself with a test ticket before sharing the link publicly.
  • Link the order page on your association''s website, on social media and in your newsletter — combined sells best.

Frequently asked questions

Which events are suitable for ticketing?
Public performances and concerts. For internal events such as rehearsals or board meetings, ticketing does not make sense — use attendance or RSVPs there.
What does ticketing cost?
A service fee applies per ticket sold and is shown transparently during the order process. You can see the exact terms in the ensemble settings under Ticketing.
Can I deactivate ticketing again later?
Yes, as long as no orders exist yet. With active orders you must cancel them first or manage the event separately — otherwise buyers are left out.
