Comment on event
Discuss with other members directly on the event — questions, notes, organizational stuff. With @mentions you can address someone specifically.
What is this?
With Comment on event you can ask questions, give hints or clarify organizational matters directly on the event. This way the entire discussion about the event lives in one place — not scattered across email, WhatsApp and chat.
How to comment
- Open the event
- Scroll to the "Comments" section (on the web on the right or below, in the app under the "Discussion" tab)
- Write your comment and click "Send"
- Optional: attach a file, mention someone with @
@Mentions
With @ you specifically mention individual members or the whole group:
- @FirstName — suggests members to choose from, you click the right one
- @all — explicitly notifies everyone invited
- @voice (for example @soprano) — notifies a voice section specifically
Mentioned members receive a push notification and an email.
What you can comment
- Questions: "Which entrance is open?"
- Organizational: "Meet at the station at 5:00 PM for carpool"
- Reminders: "Please bring black folders"
- Hints: "Acoustics are dry, start a bit softer than usual"
- Reactions: thumbs-up, heart, etc. without text
Permission
You need events.comment — by default every member has this permission. If your board restricts comments on certain events, you will not see the section.
Tips
- Use @mentions sparingly — otherwise they get ignored
- Attach deliberately — a photo of the rehearsal room says more than three sentences of description
- For many longer posts, better create a notification in the Notifications area — event comments are for event-related topics
- You can edit your own comments for ~5 minutes after sending, after that only delete
