Activate banking add-on

What is this?

With the banking add-on you connect your club account through the official PSD2 interface directly with the Chorilo cashbook. Instead of typing bank statements by hand or importing as CSV, Chorilo pulls entries automatically and suggests bookings.

• Automatic reconciliation between bank statement and entries
• Daily update without manual intervention
• Recognize receipts and assign automatically (with OCR add-on)
• Donation receipts issuable immediately on receipt
• Dunning can be automated
• GoBD-compliant audit trail for tax auditors

How to activate the add-on

1. Open your choir and go to Administration > Subscription > Activate bank account connection.
2. Read the features and pricing information.
3. Click "Book banking add-on".
4. Confirm the additional cost — the add-on is billed via your stored payment method from now on.
5. You are forwarded to the bank connection setup (Cashbook > Accounts > Bank links).
6. Choose your bank from the list and authorize access via the official PSD2 authentication of your bank.
7. Choose the relevant account (IBAN) to be linked with the cashbook.
8. First synchronization runs automatically.

What happens after activation

• Daily automatic synchronization of bank entries
• Suggestions in the cashbook which entries match which open receivable
• Automatic tagging of recurring payments (e.g. "membership fee")
• Receipts via OCR automatically assigned to the bank entry
• Donation receipts with one click as soon as the deposit is recognized
• 90-day reauth: every 90 days you have to re-confirm access at the bank (PSD2 requirement)

PSD2 security

PSD2 is the EU directive for secure bank access by third-party providers. Concretely that means:

• You authorize directly with your bank, not with Chorilo
• Read access to accounts and entries — no payment initiation without further confirmation
• 90-day limit: after 3 months reauthorization is required
• Multi-factor authentication (e.g. PushTAN, ChipTAN)
• Bank data never leaves your browser

Permission

You need the permission ensemble.edit to activate the banking add-on. By default the owner and choir director have this access. Note: the add-on incurs additional costs — clear the booking with the board.

Tips

• Schedule a time with someone who has the bank credentials — authorization has to be done live, cannot be prepared in advance.
• Enter chart of accounts and categories first before activating banking — that way suggestions can be assigned meaningfully.
• Use the suggestion logic actively — the more you confirm or correct, the better suggestions become over time.
• Plan the 90-day reauth — Chorilo reminds you in time by email. If you miss the reminder, synchronization stops until you reauthorize.
