What is this?

With the function Edit choir you maintain the base data of your choir. Here you store everything that describes the choir publicly or internally — name, logo, address, contact, founding year, description text and default language. This data is shown both inside Chorilo and used automatically on the public choir website.

Typical fields you maintain here:

  • Name and short description of the choir
  • Logo (PNG or JPG, ideally square)
  • Address of the rehearsal location and the club seat
  • Contact data (email, phone, website)
  • Founding year and choir type
  • Default language and time zone
  • Choir association, if you linked the choir to an umbrella association

How to edit the base data

  1. Open your choir via the choirs list.
  2. Click "Settings" on the left and then "Edit choir".
  3. Update the desired fields. Required fields are marked with an asterisk.
  4. Upload a new logo (optional). Chorilo automatically resizes the image and provides it in the right resolutions.
  5. Save the changes. They are immediately visible to all members and on the public website.

What is updated automatically

  • Member app: logo and name appear immediately in the choir switcher and in the overview.
  • Emails: newsletters, reminders and notifications use the new data from the next dispatch on.
  • Public website: header, footer and imprint data are picked up automatically.
  • Invoices and donation receipts: also use the stored address — therefore check the data especially carefully.

Permission

You need the permission ensemble.edit to change base data. By default the owner, choir director and board have this permission. You can adjust the assignment in the permission groups.

Tips

  • Keep the address current — it is used in donation receipts and invoices and is relevant in case of a tax audit.
  • Choose a square logo with at least 512 x 512 pixels. That way it looks clean in all sizes, from the app to the header of the public website.
  • Fill in the description carefully — it is shown on the public website and is often the first impression for interested singers.
  • Check contact data regularly so inquiries via the website reach the right place.

Frequently asked questions

Who sees the changed data?
All members see the new base data immediately — both on the web and in the app. The public website (if enabled) also picks up the changes automatically.
Can I change the choir name?
Yes, any time. The new name is used everywhere in Chorilo, in emails and on the public website. Existing links remain valid.
What happens to the old logo?
As soon as you upload a new logo, it replaces the old one. The old logo is deleted and cannot be restored — download it beforehand if needed.
