Create new choir

What is this?

With the function Create new choir you set up a fresh choir or ensemble in Chorilo. You automatically become the owner and thus the person who manages all base data, members and settings. Every choir lives completely independently: its own members, events, sheet music and permission groups.

Typical use cases:

• You found a new choir and need a central platform for communication and organization.
• You switch from another tool and create your existing choir anew.
• You manage multiple groups — for example main choir and youth choir — and want to keep them cleanly separated.

How to create a choir

1. Open the Choirs area in the main menu.
2. Click "+ Create ensemble" at the top right.
3. Enter the base data: choir name, choir type (mixed, men, women, children, instrumental etc.) and optionally a logo.
4. Choose the country and the default language. These settings affect date, time and currency formats.
5. Confirm creation. You receive a brief confirmation email with all important links.

Right after creation the setup wizard guides you through the first steps: define voices, invite members, create a first rehearsal event.

What happens next

• You are the owner: all permissions are unlocked, you can edit everything.
• Standard permission groups are already created — for example "Member", "Board" and "Choir director".
• 60-day trial is automatically active — full feature set, no credit card required. After that you pick the monthly (€10/month) or annual plan (€100/year).
• Confirmation email goes to your registered address so you can find the choir in your inbox too.

Permission

No special permission needed — every registered Chorilo account can create a choir. There is no limit on how many choirs you can create as owner.

Tips

• Choose the choir type carefully — it affects the default voices (e.g. soprano/alto for women''s choir, tenor/bass for men''s choir). You can adjust voices any time later though.
• Upload your logo right at the start. That way members recognize the choir in the app and in emails immediately.
• Use the setup wizard — it guides you in a structured way through all the important points and ensures you do not forget anything.
• Create separate choirs for clearly separated groups. When your main choir and your children''s choir have their own members, rehearsal times and performances, two separate choirs are clearer than one with subgroups.
