Create donation receipt
Issue charitable donors an official donation receipt for tax purposes. Chorilo produces a print-ready PDF for download.

What is this?
With Create donation receipt you issue a donor an official confirmation for tax purposes. The donor attaches this to their tax return and can deduct the donation. Chorilo uses the officially prescribed template and fills all required entries automatically.
Requirement: your club is recognized as non-profit (tax exemption notice on file) and the donation settings are configured.
Possible receipt types:
- Single donation receipt for a specific donation
- Annual combined receipt with all donations of a donor in the fiscal year
- In-kind donation receipt for donated items (e.g. sheet music stock, equipment)
How to create a donation receipt
- Open Administration > Cashbook > Donation receipts.
- Click New receipt.
- Choose the donor — member from the list or external person manually.
- Choose the underlying donation entry from the cashbook (or several for a combined receipt).
- For in-kind donations: enter value and description of the item.
- Check the preview — all required entries must be present.
- Download the PDF and send it to the donor by post or via your own mail program. (Direct email dispatch from Chorilo is not yet in the module — it is on the TODO list.)
Required entries of a donation receipt
Chorilo fills automatically:
- Club name and address
- Tax number and date of tax exemption notice
- Donor name and address
- Donation amount in figures and words
- Donation date and receipt date
- Confirmation of dedicated use
- Notice on liability for false statements
- Signature (board) — either digitally stored or you print and sign
Permission
You need cashbook.edit. Note: donation receipts are legally binding — only let people who are responsible for club finances (treasurer, board) issue them.
Tips
- Store tax exemption notice and tax number correctly in donation settings — then every receipt is immediately compliant.
- Issue combined receipts at the start of the following year — all member donors thus receive an annual overview for their tax return.
- Correct faulty receipts officially with cancellation and reissue — never just edit the PDF in your mail program.
