What is this?
With Disconnect bank connection you end the automatic PSD2 link between Chorilo and a bank account. After disconnecting, no new transactions are fetched — but transactions already imported and all manual entries remain unchanged. The authorization with your bank is also revoked.
Typical reasons for disconnecting:
- Bank change — you switch to a different bank and close the old account
- Account closure — the club gives up the account
- Switch to a new account at the same bank (e.g. business account instead of club account)
- Temporary disconnect for troubleshooting
- Before archiving or deleting a Chorilo account
How to disconnect a bank connection
- Open Administration > Cashbook > Accounts > Bank connections.
- Click the connection to disconnect.
- Click Disconnect in the actions menu.
- Confirm in the dialog — Chorilo warns you that no new transactions will be fetched afterwards.
- Done. The connection ends immediately, the account is removed from the Bank connections area.
What happens after disconnecting
- Bank transactions already imported remain as entries on the account.
- Reconciliation status is preserved — reconciled entries stay reconciled.
- Account balance does not change.
- Automatic synchronization stops immediately.
- PSD2 authorization with the bank is revoked — you do not have to additionally sign out in online banking.
- Manual entries remain possible on the account.
Permission
You need cashbook.edit to disconnect a bank connection.
Tips
- Always disconnect before an IBAN change — an old connection with a new IBAN leads to sync errors.
- Check before disconnecting that all bank transactions up to today are imported — possibly run a sync beforehand.
- Document in the account description why you disconnected — e.g. "Account closed on 15.04.2026".
- For temporary disconnects remember that bank transactions are missing as long as the connection is gone — you may have to back-fill these via CSV later.
Frequently asked questions
Do I lose my previous entries when I disconnect?▾
No. All bank transactions and manual entries already imported remain unchanged in the account. Only new transactions are no longer fetched automatically after disconnecting.
When does disconnecting make sense?▾
On bank changes, account closures, when switching to a different club account, or when you temporarily want to book only manually. Also needed when you want to archive or delete the Chorilo account later.
Can I reconnect later?▾
Yes, at any time via Edit account > Connect bank. You then have to log in again with your bank and re-issue the PSD2 authorization.
