What is this?

The Bank connections overview is the central place for all PSD2 connections of your club. Here you see at a glance which bank accounts are linked to Chorilo via PSD2, when each connection expires, whether the last sync was successful and which connections need attention.

PSD2 is the EU directive that allows third-party providers like Chorilo, with your consent, to read bank transactions automatically — secure, encrypted and without Chorilo being able to move money.

In the overview you see per connection:

  • Bank name and account name
  • Status — active, expiring soon, expired, error
  • Expiry date of the current PSD2 authorization
  • Last successful synchronization
  • Number of transactions fetched today

How to use the overview

  1. Open Administration > Cashbook > Accounts.
  2. Click Bank connections at the top right.
  3. See the list of all existing connections.
  4. Click a connection to open details and actions (sync, renew, disconnect).
  5. Follow yellow or red notices if connections show problems.

What the status symbols mean

  • Green — Active: connection running, sync working
  • Yellow — Expiring soon: PSD2 authorization expires in the next 14 days, please renew
  • Red — Expired: connection must be renewed, otherwise no new transactions
  • Red — Error: technical problem (e.g. bank temporarily unreachable) — usually restarting sync helps

Permission

To view you need cashbook.view. To connect, renew or disconnect you need cashbook.edit.

Tips

  • Take a quick look once a week — expired connections are the most common cause of incomplete bookkeeping.
  • Rather renew connections a few days before expiry instead of waiting — that way you avoid gaps in transactions.
  • After every renewal check with Sync now whether the connection really works again.

Frequently asked questions

What is a bank connection?
A bank connection is the legally permitted link between Chorilo and your bank. It uses the EU-wide PSD2 interface and allows Chorilo to read account transactions automatically — without being able to make transfers or changes.
Why do bank connections need to be renewed every 90 days?
This is a legal requirement of the EU PSD2 directive. It is meant to ensure that consumers regularly confirm that a third-party provider like Chorilo may keep accessing the account. Chorilo reminds you in time before expiry.
What happens when a connection has expired?
Automatic synchronization stops, new transactions no longer arrive. You have to re-authenticate the connection via Renew connection — usually via bank login and TAN confirmation.
