Renew bank connection (90-day reauth)
Renew the PSD2 authorization of your bank before it expires after 90 days, so Chorilo can keep fetching bank transactions automatically.
Diese Funktion ist nur im Web verfügbar.
What is this?
Renew connection extends the PSD2 authorization for a bank account by another 90 days. The EU PSD2 directive prescribes that third-party providers like Chorilo need your explicit consent again after at most 90 days. If you forget to renew, automatic synchronization stops — new transactions no longer arrive in Chorilo.
Chorilo reminds you in time:
- 14 days before expiry — yellow notice in the accounts overview and bank connections
- 7 days before expiry — yellow notice on the cashbook dashboard
- On expiry — red notice and email to all members with cashbook.edit
How to renew a bank connection
- Open Administration > Cashbook > Accounts > Bank connections.
- Click the affected connection.
- Click Renew connection.
- Log in with your bank — like on first connection, with PIN and TAN procedure.
- Confirm continued access for Chorilo, usually for another 90 days.
- Done. The connection is active again, sync runs normally.
When the connection has already expired
You can renew an expired connection at any time — expiry is not a permanent loss. On renewal Chorilo automatically catches up all bank transactions that occurred at your bank since expiry. If expiry is longer than 90 days ago, the oldest transactions may no longer be available — you can back-fill these via CSV import.
Permission
You need cashbook.edit to renew a bank connection.
Tips
- Rather renew 7 to 10 days before expiry — that way you avoid gaps in the books.
- Set a calendar reminder: enter the renewal date in your personal calendar in case the Chorilo notices are missed.
- Multiple accounts at once? Renew all connections of a bank in one session — usually you only have to log in once and can confirm all accounts together.
- In case of problems first check whether your online banking credentials are still valid. An expired bank password also blocks renewal.
