What is this?

With Report chat you alert the Chorilo moderation team to a chat with inappropriate content or behavior. Your report is reviewed confidentially, you do not have to deal with the conflict yourself.

Typical reasons for a report:

  • Insult, discrimination or threat
  • Spam or advertising
  • Sexual or pornographic content
  • Copyright violations (e.g. sheet music without license)
  • Violations of the terms of use

How to report a chat

  1. Open the affected chat in the web version.
  2. Tap the menu at the top right (three dots or gear icon).
  3. Choose Report chat.
  4. Choose a reason from the list (e.g. "Insult", "Spam", "Inappropriate content").
  5. Describe the situation briefly in the free-text field — the more concrete, the faster we can review.
  6. Submit the report.

What happens after the report

The Chorilo moderation team receives your report with context (chat ID, time, reported content) and reviews the case usually within a few business days. Possible measures include:

  • Notice to the author
  • Removal of individual messages
  • Warning or temporary suspension
  • Account suspension for serious or repeated violations

If needed, we contact you for follow-up questions. You will be informed once the case is closed.

Permission

No special permission is needed for reporting — every member can report at any time.

Tips

  • Describe specifically what was inappropriate — e.g. quotes from messages or which participant was involved.
  • In case of acute threat or signs of crime additionally involve the responsible authorities — Chorilo supports within the legal possibilities.
  • In parallel use the "Block user" function if someone personally bothers you — that gives you immediate peace, regardless of the moderation process.
  • Avoid false reports: the function is meant for real violations, not personal conflicts or differences of opinion.
