What is this?

With Filter and search you find exactly the piece you need in your music library — whether by title, composer, voice, tag or category. The bigger your repertoire grows, the more important these features are to get to your goal quickly.

How to find pieces

  1. Open the Sheet music area in the main menu or the Sheet music tab in the app.
  2. Type into the search bar at the top and enter a search term — e.g. title, composer or a tag.
  3. Activate filters via the filter bar:
    • Voice: soprano, alto, tenor, bass, mixed
    • Category: folk song, pop, classical, sacred, original composition, ...
    • Tag: all tags of your ensemble
    • Language of the piece
  4. Sort the result list by title, composer, date added or last rehearsed.

Search tips

  • Search is fuzzy: "Bach" also finds "J. S. Bach", "Johann Sebastian Bach" or "Bachelor".
  • Diacritics are ignored: "Halleluja" also finds "Hallelujah".
  • Multiple search terms Chorilo joins with AND. "Bach Cantata" only finds pieces with both words.
  • Composer search: type only a last name and Chorilo sorts pieces by that composer first.

Combine filters cleverly

Typical search scenarios:

  • "Which pieces can I bring up at today''s rehearsal?" — filter by "Current repertoire" plus sort by "last rehearsed ascending".
  • "What are we singing at the Advent concert?" — filter by tag "Advent concert".
  • "Which a cappella pieces are there at all?" — filter by tag "A cappella".
  • "Which pieces is the tenor still missing?" — filter by voice "Tenor", then go through.

Permission

For filtering and searching you need the sheet_music.view permission, which every member has by default. You only see pieces released for your voice or role.

Tips

  • Assign tags consistently from the start — a well-tagged piece is found again in seconds even years later.
  • Use the "last rehearsed" sort to find pieces you should pick up again urgently.
  • Save recurring filters as bookmarks in your browser — then you are back at the familiar selection with one click.

Frequently asked questions

Can I also search inside the PDF content?
Search covers title, composer, description and tags. The full text of the PDF (notation or lyrics inside the PDF) is not searched. Add important keywords as tags.
How do I combine multiple filters?
Filters work cumulatively. If you enable "Soprano" and "Advent concert", you only see pieces meeting both. Within one filter type (multiple tags) AND applies.
Are my filters preserved on the next visit?
Yes, the most recently used filters are saved and restored on next access. To start fresh, click "Reset filters" at the top of the filter bar.
