What is this?

Many choir associations are hierarchical: a federal body with several state associations, a state association with several district associations, etc. On the Sub-associations page you see all associations that sit below yours in this hierarchy.

Example: as a federal body you see all state associations here. As a state association you see all districts. As a district you may see individual singers' circles.

How to use the overview

  1. Open Association menu > Sub-associations.
  2. See the list with logo, name, number of member choirs and status.
  3. Click a sub-association to open the details.
  4. Optional: switch to the portal of a sub-association if you are listed as staff there yourself.

What you see here

  • List of all sub-associations with name and logo
  • Number of member choirs per sub-association
  • Status (active, admission in progress, dormant)
  • Contact details of the respective sub-association

Permission

You need association.manage in your association to see the sub-associations list. You can only edit the content of a sub-association if you are also entered as staff there.

Tips

  • Use the list for reports — many associations must annually report to their parent body how many choirs and members are active beneath them.
  • Keep in touch with the sub-associations — association announcements reach their members reliably only if the respective offices actively use Chorilo.
  • In case of structural changes (e.g. merger of two districts) contact Chorilo support — association hierarchies are not changed by yourself.

Frequently asked questions

How is the association hierarchy set up?
The hierarchy is defined when new associations are created. If you are a federal body, you can have state associations entered as sub-associations — Chorilo support helps with the setup.
Does a district association see the data of the federal body?
No. The hierarchy is top-down: the parent association sees all sub-associations, but sub-associations have no insight into the administration of the parent.
Can member choirs be in multiple associations at the same time?
Yes. A choir can for example belong to a state association and an additional specialist association. Both associations see the choir in their member list and can send it announcements.
