Withdraw association request

What is this?

If you have submitted a join request to a choir association but it has not been answered yet, you can withdraw it at any time. The association then no longer sees the request in their open list.

Typical reasons for withdrawing: your board has changed its mind, you have decided on a different association, or there are open questions that are better clarified without a formal application.

How to withdraw a request

1. Open your choir settings via the main menu.
2. Choose the tab "Edit choir" > "Choir association".
3. You see the status of your open request — for example "Request submitted on 12.04.2026, awaiting decision".
4. Click "Withdraw request".
5. Confirm the action. The request disappears from the association's review queue.

Permission

You need ensemble.edit in your choir to withdraw the request. Typically the board, management and members with administration permission have it.

Tips

• Inform the association personally if conversations were already underway — a brief message to the office is good etiquette.
• Think your decision through — especially in larger associations a withdrawn request often stays in informal memory. Clear communication helps with a later second attempt.
• If you are unsure, leave the request in place for now and clarify open questions with the association office. Withdrawing is final in the sense of "no longer active".
