What is this?

With Publish association announcement you send an official message from the association to all member choirs. Typical occasions: invitations to the AGM, new funding programs, bylaw changes, festival registrations, condolences, minutes of general meetings.

The announcement appears at recipients in several places — bell icon in the header, Notifications area in app and web — and is also sent by email.

How to publish an announcement

  1. Open Association menu > Announcements and click "New announcement".
  2. Enter a meaningful title — it appears as the push notification and in the email subject line.
  3. Write the content in the editor. Use paragraphs, lists and links for good readability.
  4. Attach files (optional) — PDFs, images, Office documents.
  5. Choose the recipients: by default all member choirs. Optionally you can pick a selection (e.g. only choirs in a certain region).
  6. Publish the announcement. Push notification and email are sent immediately.

  • Push notification on the smartphone
  • Entry in the bell icon in the header (web and app)
  • Email to the stored address with the association logo
  • Entry in the choir's association announcements archive — readable permanently

Permission

You need association.manage to publish association announcements. Registered association staff have this.

Tips

  • Write titles precisely — "Program spring conference 2026 + registration link" is better than "Important info!".
  • Use attachments instead of long walls of text — a short intro plus PDF is read better than a 1,000-word letter.
  • Plan big announcements early — send invitations to conferences with at least 6 weeks lead time so boards can put them on their meeting agendas.
  • Watch the announcement frequency — too many announcements lead to push fatigue and falling attention.

Frequently asked questions

Who receives the association announcement?
By default all member choirs — and within them the board and all members who have enabled the association announcements subscription in their profile. You can optionally restrict recipients to specific choirs.
Are emails sent too or only in-app messages?
Both. Recipients receive a push notification in the app and an email to the stored address. Anyone who only wants to read in-app can disable emails in their notification settings.
Can I attach PDFs or images?
Yes. PDFs (e.g. program announcements, fee schedules), images and Office documents are possible as attachments. Recipients can open and download them directly in the app or on the web.
Can I edit an announcement after publishing?
Content corrections are possible to a limited extent. For larger changes we recommend a follow-up announcement with clarification — otherwise the association looks intransparent toward the choirs.
