What is this?

The PDF viewer in the Chorilo app is more than just a display — it is your central tool for practicing and performing right on the score. While the web only offers a simple preview, the app provides every tool for active rehearsal work.

Tools in the viewer

  • Pen tool — draw directly on the PDF: breath marks, slurs, notes (see Draw PDF annotations)
  • Piano keyboard — overlay keyboard to sound single notes or chords
  • Metronome — keep tempo without switching apps
  • Audio player — start audio examples right in the PDF, with loop and tempo control
  • Jump marks — quickly jump between verses, chorus or bookmark points
  • Page rotation — landscape or portrait
  • Zoom — pinch-to-zoom for detail view
  • Multi-page navigation — swipe, tap the table of contents

How to use the viewer

  1. Open the Sheet music tab in the app
  2. Tap a piece
  3. Tap the PDF to display it
  4. The viewer opens full-screen
  5. Toolbar at the bottom or side (depending on device orientation) — pick the tool you want here

Tips

  • In concert keep the app in the foreground and enable concert mode (no auto-lock)
  • Tablet in landscape for two-page view — especially handy for long pieces
  • Save important pieces offline so you do not depend on Wi-Fi at the performance
  • Use jump marks for the concert order — faster transitions than flipping pages

Permission

Every member with sheet_music.view can use the viewer.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find the PDF viewer in the web?
The web has a simple PDF preview (view + download). The advanced features (pen, piano, metronome, audio player, jump marks) are exclusive to the mobile app.
Does the viewer work offline?
Yes. If you have saved the piece offline (see Make PDF available offline), you can use the viewer and all tools without internet.
Are my annotations shared with other members?
No. Pen annotations are personal by default. Other members draw their own annotations independently — you do not see theirs.
