What is this?

With Save PDF offline you load sheet music locally onto your smartphone so you can read it without an internet connection. That is perfect for:

  • Rehearsal rooms with poor reception
  • Performance venues without Wi-Fi (churches, old halls)
  • Travel and tour buses
  • Airplane and train

As soon as you are online again, the app syncs all changes automatically.

How to save scores offline

  1. Open the Chorilo app on your smartphone.
  2. Go to the Sheet music tab.
  3. Pick the piece you need offline.
  4. Tap the download icon (cloud with downward arrow) or in the menu "Save offline".
  5. The PDF is downloaded in the background — a small indicator shows the progress.
  6. Once finished, a checkmark or cloud icon with a checkmark appears.

Save several scores at once

In most music libraries you can also save all pieces of a concert or of a project at once:

  1. Open the corresponding event or project.
  2. Choose "Save all sheet music offline".
  3. The app downloads all PDFs one after another.

What works offline

  • Read PDF — all pieces you have saved
  • Page changes — swipe as usual
  • Attachments like audio recordings — if also saved offline

What does not work offline

  • Rehearsal session — needs internet for the sync
  • Download new sheet music — internet required
  • Sync comments and annotations — they are stored locally and synced the next time you are online

Permission

You need sheet_music.view to see and save sheet music offline — every member has this permission by default.

Tips

  • Save important scores offline before every rehearsal or performance — even when you expect internet.
  • Tidy up regularly: delete offline scores of old pieces no longer in the repertoire.
  • Use Wi-Fi for downloads to save mobile data.
  • Load everything you need on the go in advance before traveling — especially abroad with expensive roaming.

Frequently asked questions

How much storage do scores need?
An average sheet music PDF takes 1-5 MB. Even if you save your entire repertoire offline, that is rarely more than 200-300 MB — no problem for modern smartphones.
Are offline-saved scores updated?
Yes, automatically. As soon as a score changes in the cloud and you are online again, the app downloads the new version in the background.
Can I delete offline-saved scores later?
Yes. In the "Storage management" menu you see which scores are present locally and can delete them individually or all at once.
