What is this?
The metronome in the PDF viewer is a full-featured metronome as a tool right in the sheet music view. You do not need to open a separate metronome app — keeping tempo and reading sheet music happens in one window.
Use
- Open the PDF in the Sheet music tab
- Tap the metronome icon in the toolbar
- Set the tempo with the slider or by typing
- Tap start — visual beat at the top of the screen + audible click
- Stop when done
Features
- BPM range: 20-300
- Tap tempo — tap five times, the app calculates the average tempo
- Selectable time signature: 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 6/8, 9/8, 12/8
- Accent on 1 (can be turned off)
- Sound options: click, wood, stick, drum
- Volume adjustable independently of the device master
- Visual beat as a dot animation, useful in silent mode
When is it useful?
- Rehearsal room without a metronome — quick fix
- Solo practice at home — no app switching
- Tempo comparison — composer marks "Allegro quarter=120", check quickly
- Practice difficult passages slowly — gradually increase tempo
- Section work with several people — everyone hears the same tempo
Tips
- Use the accent — the first beat of a bar helps you stay oriented
- Visual beat for silent rehearsal rooms
- Tap tempo is faster than the slider when you only need a rough tempo
- Bluetooth headphones — metronome click in your ear, the choir sings around you
