Rehearsal session (live sync between members)

What is this?

The rehearsal session is a special feature of the Chorilo mobile app: during the rehearsal, you all flip through the sheet music synchronously. The choir director leads — as soon as they jump to a new page or a new piece, all members follow automatically in real time.

The result: no more "Where are we right now?", no delays from flipping pages. Everyone has the same spot in front of them immediately.

How to start a rehearsal session

As choir director (session leader)

1. Open the Chorilo app on your phone or tablet.
2. Go to the Practice tab (hidden area, accessible via Events if needed).
3. Pick "New session" and give the session a name.
4. Pick the pieces that will be rehearsed.
5. Tap "Start session" — members can now join.

As a member

1. Open the Chorilo app.
2. You receive a push notification as soon as a session is running.
3. Tap the notification or go to the Practice tab.
4. Pick the active session and tap "Join".
5. From now on you are flipped automatically in sync with the session leader.

What happens during the session

• Session leader flips — all members follow automatically
• Piece changes are taken over instantly
• Notes can be shared live (if enabled)
• Members can leave the sync and rejoin later

Permission

You need events.view to take part in sessions — every member has this permission by default. To start a session you need higher rights (typically choir director or rehearsal leader).

Tips

• Make sure you have stable Wi-Fi in the rehearsal room — mobile data works, but Wi-Fi is more reliable.
• Save scores offline beforehand as a backup — if the internet drops briefly you still have them on hand.
• Use a tablet instead of a phone for a larger score view — especially nicer for long pieces.
• Set your device to "Do not disturb" during the session — push notifications can otherwise interrupt.
