What is this?

A poll in a notification is a quick vote that the choir director or board can use to gather your opinion. Typical examples: When should the extra rehearsal take place? Which piece should be rehearsed as an encore? Which logo do you like best?

You see the poll directly in the notification with all options, the current state and a hint whether you have already voted.

How to vote

  1. Open the notification with the poll through the notifications overview.
  2. Scroll to the poll area below the actual notification text.
  3. Tap or click the option(s) you want to choose:
    • In single choice you can pick only one option.
    • In multi choice you can check any number of options.
  4. Your vote is saved immediately — the bars update in real time.
  5. Change your vote any time while the poll is open by picking another option or removing your check.

What you see in the poll

The poll shows you all relevant info at a glance:

  • Question and options from the author
  • Current votes per option as bars or percentages
  • Total number of participants
  • Your own status — which option you picked
  • End of the poll if a deadline is set
  • List of participants per option in open polls — tap an option to see the names

Permission

You need the notifications.view permission to take part in polls. It is assigned by default to all active members. If you can see the notification with the poll, you may also vote.

Tips

  • Vote early — the author can plan better and may close the poll sooner.
  • Use multi choice for date polls — mark all dates that would work for you, not just one.
  • Write a comment if none of the options fits — then the author can add another.
  • For controversial votes an open poll shows not only the result but also who voted how — that promotes transparency but should be used deliberately.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change my vote later?
Yes. Just tap or click another option, then your previous vote is removed and the new one set. In multi-select polls you can select and deselect options individually.
Do other members see what I voted for?
That depends on the poll type. In open polls it is visible who voted for what. In anonymous polls everyone only sees the total per option, not the names.
How do I see the current result?
Once you have voted or the poll is open, Chorilo shows the current votes per option as bars — in real time. You do not have to reload the page.
What happens after the poll ends?
If the author has set a deadline, the poll closes automatically. After that no more voting is possible, but the result remains visible to everyone — and the author can create an event directly from it.
