Permission required: Notifications › View

What is this?

In the Archive you find all notifications you have personally archived from your overview. The archive is your private collection of completed or older notifications — fully searchable and accessible at any time. Other members cannot see what is in your archive.

In the archive everything is preserved:

  • Full text of the notification
  • All comments and reactions
  • Attachments to download
  • Poll results as documentation
  • Author, date and "edited" hints

How to open the archive

  1. Open the Notifications area in the main menu.
  2. Click "Archive" — usually via a button at the top right or in the filter.
  3. Browse the list of archived notifications — newest first.
  4. Tap or click an entry to read the notification in full.
  5. Bring a notification back by choosing "Restore" in the three-dot menu — it then reappears in your active overview.

When the archive is useful

Typical use cases:

  • Look up old program info — for example to prepare a follow-up concert
  • Check past poll results — who voted for what back then
  • Find attachments again — old score scans, posters, directions
  • Trace the discussion of earlier decisions
  • Records for the association''s history — for example for the year-end review

What you can search by

In the archive, search works the same as in the main overview:

  • Keyword in the title — fastest hit
  • Keyword in the text — also searches older notifications
  • Author name — all notifications by a specific person
  • Time range — for example "last 12 months" or "2024"

In the global search of the Notifications area you can enable the filter to also search the archive.

Permission

You need the notifications.view permission to open your archive. It is assigned by default to all active members. The archive itself is always private — you only see what you have archived yourself.

Tips

  • Look in the archive regularly when you need a particular old piece of info — search is usually faster than scrolling.
  • Restore important old notifications before a follow-up date — for example the rehearsal info for a concert piece you take up again.
  • Use the archive as a personal collection — you do not have to export anything by hand.
  • The archive is not a backup: if an authorized member deletes the original notification, it disappears from your archive too.

Frequently asked questions

Do I see notifications in the archive that others have archived?
No. The archive is purely personal — you only see the notifications you have archived yourself. What other members do with their overview is none of your business and vice versa.
Do notifications stay in the archive forever?
Yes, as long as the notification has not been completely deleted by the author or an authorized person. Even after years you find the attachments, comments and poll results there.
Can I search inside the archive?
Yes. The search feature can search archived notifications too — handy when you want to find an old piece of info, such as something about a concert from two years ago.
What is the difference between archiving and deleting?
Archiving is personal and reversible — you only move your own view. Deleting removes the notification permanently for all members along with comments and attachments.
