Download attachment
Download attachments from a notification — save or open PDFs, images, Word documents and more directly in the web or in the app.
What is this?
Notifications can include attachments — for example a PDF with the concert program, a photo from the last performance, a score scan for preparation or an audio recording for practice. With Download attachment you can open, view or permanently save these files on your device.
Typical attachments in notifications:
- PDF — program, directions, lyrics, rehearsal plan
- Image — photo, poster, plan, outfit example
- Audio — rehearsal recording, voice exercise, tempo reference
- Office document — Word file with texts, Excel with lists
- Score format — MusicXML, MIDI, Sibelius file
How to download an attachment
- Open the notification through the notifications overview.
- Scroll to the attachment area below the notification text.
- Tap or click the attachment:
- In the web: the file opens in the browser or you choose "Save as".
- In the app: the file opens in the matching app (PDF viewer, image viewer, player) or can be passed on via the share menu.
- Save the file locally if you need it offline later — for example for a rehearsal.
Where saved attachments end up
Depending on device and browser, attachments are stored differently:
- Web (desktop) — in your browser''s default download folder
- iPhone / iPad — in the "Files" area or directly in the app you open them with
- Android — in the download folder or in the chosen target app
- App cache — Chorilo automatically keeps opened attachments in the cache so they remain available offline
Permission
You need the notifications.view permission to download attachments. It is assigned by default to all active members. If you can see the notification, you can open and save all its attachments.
Tips
- Download important attachments before a rehearsal — the rehearsal room often has poor reception, having them offline saves nerves.
- For score scans check whether the file is also in the music library — there it stays permanently available.
- For large files (audio, video) use Wi-Fi to save mobile data.
- Mind privacy: when forwarding or printing attachments, check beforehand that they are not internal content not meant for outside.
