Compose a notification to your choir with text, attachments, poll and reactions. All recipients receive a push notification and an email.

What is this?

With Create notification you send an announcement to all or selected members of your choir. Notifications are the right tool for info that should reach everyone — unlike a chat, they are not addressed to a single recipient but to the community.

Typical reasons for a notification:

  • Rehearsal info — short-notice cancellation, room change, extra rehearsal
  • Performance info — directions, outfit, dress rehearsal, program
  • Organizational — new rehearsal scores, schedule, association topics
  • Polls — finding a date, choosing pieces, board elections
  • Social — birthdays, parties, outings

How to compose a notification

  1. Open the Notifications area in the main menu.
  2. Click "New notification" at the top right.
  3. Enter a meaningful title — it appears in the overview and in the push notification.
  4. Write the text in the editor. You can use paragraphs, lists and links.
  5. Attach files if needed — PDF, image, Word, Excel and more are supported.
  6. Optionally enable a poll and enter the answer options.
  7. Pick the recipients: all members or specific voices and roles.
  8. Publish the notification. Push notifications go out immediately, emails bundled within 10 minutes.

What recipients see

Once published, the notification appears immediately in the notifications overview. Members with push notifications also get a message on their phone. The digest email shows the title and a preview, a click leads directly to the web view or app.

Recipients can comment, react with emojis, download attachments and take part in polls on your notification.

Permission

You need the notifications.create permission to compose a notification. It is assigned by default to choir directors and the board. The assignment is managed in the choir settings under Administration > Permission groups.

Tips

  • Pick a clear, short title — it is also used as the email subject.
  • Put the most important point in the first sentence so it shows in the preview and push notification.
  • Target individual voices as recipients when only soprano or bass are concerned — others are not unnecessarily notified.
  • Combine poll and attachment, for example for piece suggestions with score samples as a PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Who gets my notification?
By default all active members of your choir receive the notification. You can target the recipients — for example individual voices, roles or selected members. Inactive members are never notified.
When are the emails sent?
Push notifications go out immediately. Emails are bundled and sent within 10 minutes — that way members get a digest email rather than many individual messages when several notifications occur.
Can I add attachments?
Yes. You can attach PDFs, images, Word documents and other files. Several attachments per notification are possible. Members can download the attachments directly in the app or web.
How do I create a poll inside the notification?
In the form, enable the "Poll" option and add two or more options — for example date proposals or suggestions for the next concert piece. Members can then vote with one click.
