What is this?

With a comment you take part in the discussion under a notification. Comments are ideal for asking questions, adding suggestions or replying to other members'' contributions — all directly under the notification, so the entire discussion stays in one place.

Typical reasons for a comment:

  • Question about the rehearsal info — for example about the time or the score material
  • Agreement or addition to a notification
  • Suggestion as an addition to a poll
  • Reply to another comment
  • Extra info from the author without editing the whole notification

How to write a comment

  1. Open the notification through the notifications overview.
  2. Scroll down to the comment area.
  3. Tap or click the input field "Write comment".
  4. Compose your contribution — short and concrete so others grasp it quickly.
  5. Send the comment with the send icon. It appears immediately under the notification, the author and all co-commenters get notified.

Who gets informed?

When you send your comment, Chorilo triggers a push notification to the following people:

  • Author of the notification — so questions or replies do not get lost
  • All members who have already commented — so the discussion stays alive
  • Members with reactions to the notification — optional, depending on settings

Members who only read the notification without acting receive no notification — that keeps the load low.

Permission

You need the notifications.view permission to comment on notifications. It is assigned by default to all active members. If you can see a notification, you can also comment on it.

Tips

  • Keep your comment short — long texts belong in a chat or a separate notification.
  • Thank with a reaction instead of a "Thanks!" comment — that keeps the discussion tidy.
  • Do not mention sensitive information in comments — they are visible to all recipients of the notification.
  • Check your comment before sending — typos can be corrected later, but push notifications are already out by then.

Frequently asked questions

Who gets a notification when I comment?
The author of the notification and all members who have already commented receive a push notification. That way everyone involved in the discussion is informed without bothering the whole choir.
Can I edit or delete my comment?
Yes. Through the three-dot menu on your comment you find "Edit" and "Delete". Edited comments are marked with an "edited" hint.
Do all members see my comment?
Yes. Comments are visible to everyone who can see the notification itself. There are no private comments — if you want to reply privately, use a chat instead.
Can I attach files in a comment?
Currently comments are plain text. If you want to contribute a file to the discussion, upload it in the matching area (sheet music, photos) and link to it in the comment.
