What is this?

On the Privacy & terms of use page you get a transparent overview of which data Chorilo stores about you, what we use it for and which rights you have under GDPR. Here you can also manage consents and trigger a full data export.

How to use the privacy page

  1. Open the profile through the main menu or the Profile tab.
  2. Pick "Privacy & terms of use".
  3. See the overview of stored data and purposes.
  4. Manage consents — for example for optional features like birthday display in the choir.
  5. Start a data export if desired.
  6. Read the current versions of privacy policy and terms.

What you find here

  • Overview of stored data — which categories Chorilo holds about you
  • Purpose limitation — what each piece of data is used for
  • Retention periods — how long we store what
  • Consents — what you have ticked and whether you want to revoke it
  • Data export (GDPR Article 20) — all your data as a download
  • Current versions of the privacy policy and terms

Permission

Privacy view and data export are always accessible to every user — no special permission needed.

Tips

  • Make a regular data export if you have many memberships over many years — that way in an emergency (e.g. account suspension) you have your data locally.
  • Read the privacy policy at least once — even if it is long. You will then better understand why, for example, the board sees your phone number and fellow singers do not.
  • For GDPR requests to Chorilo write to datenschutz@chorilo.com — we answer within the legal one-month period.

Frequently asked questions

Which data does Chorilo store about me?
Profile master data (name, email, photo), your memberships in choirs and associations, your activities (events, notifications, chats, sheet music access). Sensitive data like address only if you enter them voluntarily.
Can I get all my data as an export?
Yes. Through the privacy page you start a data export — you receive a download link by email with all your data in a machine-readable format. That is your right under GDPR Article 20.
Are my data passed on to third parties?
No. Chorilo does not pass data to advertisers or data brokers. Inside your choir other members only see what permissions allow. Full details in the privacy policy under Legal.
