Connect AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude)

Connect Chorilo to ChatGPT or Claude: look up and create events, confirm or decline attendance, write announcements, search sheet music.

Diese Funktion ist nur im Web verfügbar.

What is this?

You can connect your Chorilo account to an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude. Afterwards you can simply ask the assistant in plain language — for example "What events does my choir have this week?" or "Confirm my attendance for Friday's rehearsal" — and it takes care of it directly in Chorilo for you.

The connection is entirely voluntary and set up by you yourself. The assistant then acts exclusively on your behalf and with exactly the permissions your account has in your choir.

What the assistant can do for you

  • Look up events — upcoming rehearsals, concerts and other events
  • Create or edit events — if you are authorised to do so
  • Confirm or decline (RSVP) events
  • Read and create announcements
  • Search the sheet music library

Deleting is deliberately not possible — that remains reserved for the Chorilo app.

How to connect Claude

  1. Open Claude and go to Settings > Connectors (with a Team or organisation licence: Organization settings > Connectors).
  2. Select "Add custom connector".
  3. Enter the following address:
    https://backend.chorilo.com/mcp

  4. Claude will redirect you to the Chorilo sign-in page. Sign in with your usual email address and password.
  5. On the following page, explicitly confirm that Claude may access your Chorilo account.
  6. Done! Ask Claude directly: "What events does my choir have coming up?"

How to connect ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT and go to Settings > Apps & Connectors.
  2. If not already enabled, turn on Developer Mode and select "Add connection".
  3. Enter the following address:
    https://backend.chorilo.com/mcp

  4. Sign in on the Chorilo sign-in page with your usual credentials and confirm the authorisation.
  5. Done! Ask ChatGPT directly about your choir's events.

Note: The exact labels in the settings may change slightly due to updates from OpenAI and Anthropic — if in doubt, simply search for "Connector" or "Apps". ChatGPT connectors currently require a paid plan.

Permission

No special permission required — every signed-in Chorilo user can connect their own account. What the assistant is then allowed to do is automatically governed by your own role in the respective choir.

Tips

  • Ask about your choirs first so the assistant knows which choir to work with if you are a member of more than one.
  • Check what the assistant is about to create or change before confirming — for events and announcements it will usually ask you again before saving anything.
  • For more on privacy, see our privacy policy in the section "Connecting AI assistants".

Frequently asked questions

Does the connection cost extra?
No, Chorilo does not charge anything extra for this. You just need your own account with the respective AI provider — possibly with its own costs for connector features.
Can the AI assistant delete events or announcements?
No. The connection only allows reading, creating and editing — deleting is deliberately not possible and must still be done in the Chorilo app.
Can the AI see data from other choir members?
No. The assistant only sees what you would also see in the app yourself, and always acts only with your own permissions in your choir — never with those of other members.
How do I disconnect it again?
Remove the connector in the settings of your AI assistant. Access becomes invalid immediately and also expires automatically if it is not used for a while.
