Change password

What is this?

With Change password you set a new login password for your Chorilo account. We recommend changing the password regularly — especially if you have used Chorilo on shared devices or if you suspect someone has had unauthorized access.

How to change your password

1. Open the profile through the main menu or the Profile tab in the app.
2. Pick "Change password".
3. Enter your current password (security check).
4. Enter the new password twice.
5. Save the change. The new password applies for all future logins.

Requirements for the new password

• At least 8 characters, recommended 12+
• Mix of letters, numbers and ideally special characters
• No obvious words like your name, "password" or "chorilo"
• As unique as possible — not the same password as for other services

Permission

You can always change your own password yourself — no special permission needed. Other people, including the board or Chorilo support, cannot see or reset your password without your help.

Tips

• Use a password manager like Bitwarden, 1Password or one built into your browser/phone — that way you do not have to remember complex passwords.
• Never share your password — not even with family members or board colleagues. If someone is supposed to handle tasks on your behalf, set up a separate membership for them with a fitting permission group.
• Change immediately if you suspect misuse — for example when you get an unfamiliar login alert or data in your account has been changed.
