What is this?

In the notification settings you decide how loud Chorilo is for you. Per area — events, notifications, chats, sheet music, association notifications — you decide whether you want push messages and/or emails and at what frequency.

How to adjust your settings

  1. Open the profile and pick "Notification settings".
  2. See the list of areas — events, notifications, chats, sheet music, association notifications, other.
  3. Set per area what you want:
    • Push — instant message on the smartphone
    • Email — digest mail or instant mail
    • Frequency — instant, bundled, daily, weekly, never
  4. Optional: define quiet hours (e.g. 10pm-7am, no push).
  5. Save — the settings take effect immediately.

Which areas you can control

  • Events — new events, reminders, attendance updates
  • Notifications — new choir notifications, comments
  • Chats — direct messages and group chats
  • Sheet music — new scores, changes, comments
  • Association notifications — notifications from the umbrella association
  • Account & security — login alerts, password changes

Permission

You can always change notification settings yourself — no special permission. They only apply to you, not to other members.

Tips

  • Less is more: many members enable all push channels and are annoyed after 2 weeks. Better start with morning digest emails and add push selectively only where it is really urgent (e.g. chats).
  • Use quiet hours — push messages at 11pm about a rehearsal change for the next day disturb more than they help.
  • For board roles, enable more — if you have to react quickly to requests, push for notifications and chats is worth it.

Frequently asked questions

If I switch off push messages, do I miss events?
Events still appear in the calendar and on the dashboard. Only the push reminder is missing. You can configure emails separately in parallel — for example "no push, but a digest email in the morning".
How often does Chorilo send emails?
Chorilo bundles non-urgent notifications every 10 minutes into a digest email. Urgent things (e.g. new chat message) come through directly. You can adjust the frequency per area.
Can I set up quiet hours?
Yes. Define which hours Chorilo will not disturb you with push — for example at night or on weekends. Emails keep running but arrive bundled the next morning.
Does the setting apply to all my choirs together?
Yes. Notification settings are profile-wide. If you want less noise in a particular choir, mute the choir via the choir settings instead.
