Set performance fees for plays

What is this?

With plays it is common that, in addition to buying the scripts, a fee per performance goes to the author. As a publisher you set these conditions per play. Groups then report every performance with their ticket revenue and pay directly online — you receive your share with the monthly payout.

How to set the fees

1. Go to Publisher > My sheet music and open Edit title.
2. Scroll to the Performance fees section.
3. Choose one of the three models (or "No performance fee").
4. Enter the fixed amount, the percentage and, if applicable, the revenue limit.
5. Save the title.

When uploading a new play you can set the fees right away.

The three models

• Fixed amount up to revenue limit: Up to the revenue limit the group pays the fixed amount, above it the percentage of the ticket revenue. Good when small performances should pay a flat amount and large ones a share.
• Minimum guarantee: The group pays the higher amount — fixed amount or percentage. The classic model of theatre publishers: you never get less than your guarantee.
• Fixed amount plus revenue share: The fixed amount always applies, plus a percentage on revenue above the limit.

Good to know

• The conditions are shown to buyers transparently before purchase on the piece page.
• Only groups that bought your play can report and pay.
• Your shares from performance fees appear together with the sales on the monthly credit note.
• Changes only apply to future reports.
