What is this?
Projects are cross-choir, often time-limited groups with their own member list, their own events and their own sheet music. Typical examples:
- Project choir for a specific concert with singers from multiple choirs
- Concert series with a shared program across several events
- Regional performance group, e.g. for choir festivals
- Preparation of a CD or recording production
Projects are not sub-menus of a choir — they stand on their own in the main menu.
What you see in the overview
- All projects in which you are a member or lead
- Project name and short description
- Number of members and next event
- Status — planned, active, completed
- Quick access to open or edit
What you can do in the area
- Open project — view events, members, sheet music
- Create new project — for example for an upcoming concert series
- Edit project — adjust master data
- Manage members — invite or remove singers
- Assign sheet music — maintain project-specific repertoire
Permission
You need projects.view to see projects. Members of a project automatically see the project they are invited to. Managers and leads see all projects of their choirs.
Tips
- Create a project as soon as the idea is set — even if the concert is a year away. So members can plan early.
- Keep the project repertoire cleanly separated from the choir repertoire — that helps with practicing and organizing.
- Use projects for external singers — they get access to everything they need without officially becoming a choir member.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a project and a choir?▾
A choir is a permanent community with regular rehearsals. A project is a time-limited group — for example a project choir for a specific concert, often with members from multiple choirs.
Can a project have members from different choirs?▾
Yes, that is exactly what projects are for. You can invite people from your own choirs or external singers who are only on board for this project.
Are projects deleted automatically after the concert?▾
No. Projects remain until you actively delete them. So you can still access memories, photos and sheet music or build a follow-up project on top.
