Create new project

What is this?

With Create project you start a new cross-choir group. Unlike a choir, a project is usually time-limited and can include members from several choirs or external singers.

Typical uses: project choir for a specific concert, concert series across several events, regional performance group.

How to create a project

1. Open the "Projects" area in the main menu.
2. Click "New project" at the top right.
3. Enter the master data:
   • Project name — e.g. "Brahms Requiem 2026"
   • Description — occasion, goal, choirs involved
   • Main choir — which choir the project is organizationally assigned to
   • Start and end date — period of the project
4. Click "Create project" — you land directly in the new project.
5. Now invite members and create the first events.

What happens after creation

• You are automatically the project lead
• The project appears in the projects overview
• You can immediately add members, events and sheet music

Permission

You need projects.create to create new projects. By default choir directors and the board have this permission. Regular members can see projects but not create them.

Tips

• Plan the project period generously — better build in some buffer than be a few days short.
• Write the program and goals into the description so invited members know right away what it is about.
• Create the first events right away — members can then see when invited whether the dates work.
