What is this?

The bell icon in the header is your central notification center in Chorilo. A click opens a dropdown with your most recent system notifications — new events, notifications, chats, association announcements or reminders. Via the dropdown you jump directly to the respective content.

How to open the dropdown

  1. Look in the header for the bell icon — usually next to your profile picture.
  2. Click the bell icon.
  3. The dropdown opens with your latest notifications.
  4. Click an entry to jump directly to the content.
  5. Closing works by clicking outside or clicking the bell again.

What you see in the dropdown

  • Latest notifications in chronological order (newest on top)
  • Badge with count of unread entries
  • Symbols per type (event, notification, chat, association announcement)
  • "Show all" link — jump to the full list
  • "Mark all as read" — set badge to zero

Permission

The bell icon is always visible to every signed-in user — no special permission. Which notifications you exactly receive depends on your memberships and notification settings.

Tips

  • Take a quick look once a day — that way you do not miss important events or notifications without suffering constant push fatigue.
  • If the badge is permanently high: check in the notification settings whether you really want in-app hints for all areas. Often email is enough.
  • The dropdown does not replace search — when you specifically look for an old notification, go to the Notifications area and filter there.

Frequently asked questions

What does the red dot at the bell mean?▾
The badge shows the number of your unread notifications. As soon as you open them or mark them as read, the dot disappears.
Which notifications appear here?▾
All system events relevant to you: new events, notifications, chats, association announcements, reminders and comments. Pure push reminders without content do not land here.
Do I also see old notifications in the dropdown?▾
No, the dropdown only shows the last 10 or so entries. For the complete list click "Show all" at the end of the dropdown.
