What is this?
The Feature requests overview is the central place where all users can propose new features and vote on the proposals of others. The Chorilo team uses this list to recognize what users want most urgently — and prioritizes the roadmap accordingly.
The more votes a request has, the more likely it lands on the development list.
What you see in the overview
- All feature requests sorted by votes, date or status
- Title and short description
- Number of votes
- Status — new, under review, planned, in development, implemented, declined
- Number of comments
- Filter by status, area or search term
What you can do
- Browse the list of requests
- Filter and search for specific topics
- Vote — for requests important to you
- Comment — discuss requests
- Submit your own request — add a new idea
- Edit your own requests — if not yet in development
Permission
No permission required — every Chorilo user can see, submit, vote and comment on feature requests.
Tips
- First search whether your request already exists before submitting a new one — votes on an existing request are more effective than three small similar ones.
- Do not only vote for your own requests but also for those of others — that helps the whole community.
- Write concrete use cases in the comments, that helps the team understand the need better.
- Watch the status of popular requests — you see how ideas develop step by step into a feature.
Frequently asked questions
Are all feature requests implemented?▾
No, that would not be feasible time-wise. But requests with many votes and clear added value for many users have a good chance of being added to the roadmap.
How long does implementing a popular request take?▾
That varies a lot. Smaller UI improvements can be implemented within a few weeks, larger features take months. The status is shown on the request.
Can every user submit requests?▾
Yes. Every Chorilo user with an active account can submit, vote and comment on requests. There are no restrictions by role or plan.
