What is this?

With Edit request you adjust a feature request you submitted yourself. You can change title, description, area and attachments — e.g. to phrase the request more clearly, add new insights or include better examples.

Existing votes are preserved.

How to edit a request

  1. Open the "New features" area and click your request.
  2. Click "Edit" (pencil icon or three-dot menu).
  3. Adjust the desired fields:
    • Title
    • Description
    • Area
    • Attachments — add new ones or remove existing
  4. Click "Save" — changes are visible immediately.

When you can no longer edit

Once a request reaches the status "in development" or "implemented", it is locked. That is important so the content does not change while the team is working on it.

When you want to fundamentally change the request

For a clearly different idea it is fairer to create a new request instead of completely rebuilding the existing one — otherwise voters would have voted for something different from what is now there.

Permission

You can only edit your own requests. There is no special permission — the function is open to every registered Chorilo user.

Tips

  • React to comments and incorporate suggestions into the description — that makes the request clearer.
  • Maintain attachments with screenshots and sketches when better visual examples come to mind.
  • For big changes comment briefly on the adjustment so voters know.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit requests of others?
No. You can only edit your own requests. For requests of others, you are welcome to engage in the comments or submit a similar idea as a separate request.
Can I still edit after many votes?
As long as the request is not yet in development, yes. Once it has the status "in development" or "implemented", it is locked — otherwise content would change under the votes.
Do existing votes lose validity when I edit?
No, the votes are preserved. Take care not to fundamentally change the request when editing — otherwise it would be fair to create a new request.
