Install Chorilo Files (desktop sync)

What is this?

Chorilo Files is an additional desktop sync client for Mac and Windows. It automatically syncs the sheet music and files of your choirs between cloud and local folder — similar to Dropbox, but specifically for choirs.

So you can open sheet music in any PDF app, edit it with your usual software or print directly — without having to download each one from the web individually.

How to install Chorilo Files

1. Open chorilo.com/download in your browser.
2. Choose your operating system — macOS (DMG) or Windows (EXE) — and download the installer.
3. macOS: open the downloaded .dmg file, drag Chorilo Files to the Applications folder and start the app.
4. Windows: run the downloaded .exe file and follow the install wizard.
5. On first start you sign in with your Chorilo account (OAuth login opens in the browser).
6. Choose a local sync folder (e.g. ~/Chorilo on macOS or Documents\Chorilo on Windows).
7. Choose the choirs you want to sync — sync starts automatically in the background.

What you have afterwards

• Local folder with all synced sheet music — one sub-folder per choir
• Tray icon (menu bar top right on macOS, taskbar bottom right on Windows) for quick control
• Automatic upload on local changes
• Multi-choir support — any number of choirs in parallel
• Auto-start with the operating system (optional)

Permission

No special permission required. Which files you see in which choirs depends on your rights in the respective choirs — sync respects permissions automatically.

Tips

• Let Chorilo Files run in the background so your folder is always up-to-date.
• Edit files directly in the local folder — all changes land in the cloud automatically so other members see the current version.
• Use the pause function in the tray menu when you do not want to waste internet (e.g. on the go).
