Since the last update at the end of June, a lot has happened in Chorilo again – from a major new sheet music feature to handy helpers in the app and many small everyday improvements. Here is an overview of everything that has been added in recent weeks.
One piece, many editions: sheet music versions
The biggest new feature concerns the music folder: a piece can now contain several PDF editions – for example one with piano accompaniment, one a cappella and one for a single voice part only. The sheet music list keeps a single entry, you simply switch between editions while viewing, and personal annotations stay with exactly the edition in which they were made. Recording right inside the sheet music app
In the mobile app you can now record directly with the piece: a tap on the microphone in the audio area of the sheet music view starts the recording – for a rehearsal take, say, or a practice recording of your own voice. While recording, you can keep turning pages as usual; a small indicator shows the elapsed recording time. After stopping, you first listen to the recording at leisure and then decide whether it is saved with a title and made available to all members, or discarded. Recordings can be up to 60 minutes long; anyone who may edit sheet music may record.
Download all sheet music of an event at once
Anyone preparing for a rehearsal or concert previously had to open the linked sheet music piece by piece. Now the app lets you download all sheet music of an event with a single action. The complete folder for the evening is on your device with one tap – even where there is no reception on the way.
Share files from the app
Files from the file area can now be shared directly from the app – by email or messenger, for example, to people who are not on Chorilo. The poster draft goes straight to the print shop without a detour via the computer, the directions straight to the family.
Profile pictures in attendance
When taking attendance in the app, the member list now shows profile pictures. Especially in large choirs or with new faces, it is immediately clear who is meant – ticking people off is noticeably quicker.
Room for large files: up to 5 gigabytes
The media area now accepts files up to 5 gigabytes – on the web just as in the app. That means the complete concert recording at full length or high-resolution videos from the choir retreat fit too, without cutting or shrinking them first.
Invoices in the subscription area
The invoices for your Chorilo subscription can now be found directly in the subscription area of your choir administration. For bookkeeping or the audit of accounts, all receipts are at hand at any time without asking around.
A tidier sheet music shop
The shop has been tidied up: choral sheet music and theatre plays now have separate areas. Anyone looking for choir music no longer browses through spoken-theatre material – and vice versa.
Further improvements
On top of that come many small things: downloaded files now carry their proper name instead of a cryptic label. When opening a piece, the app detects whether the sheet music PDF has changed and automatically loads the current edition. Member imports and editing the choir settings now show clearer error messages that say what specifically needs to be done. And several app updates have fixed bugs and further improved stability.
