A choir member types a quick message into ChatGPT one evening: "What rehearsals does my choir have this week?" – and gets the answer without opening the Chorilo app. That is exactly what is now possible: Chorilo can be connected to AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude, which can then look up events on your behalf, take attendance confirmations, draft announcements and search the sheet music library.
What an AI assistant can do for your choir
Once connected, plain language is enough. A choir director can ask "Add a rehearsal next Friday at 7pm in the parish hall" or "Move the dress rehearsal to 8pm" – the assistant creates or changes the event in Chorilo, exactly as would be possible through the app. Members, in turn, can simply say "I can't make Thursday's rehearsal" and the response lands directly in the system. Drafting an announcement to the choir or searching for a particular piece in the sheet music library works the same way.
This is especially handy on the go, when typing is inconvenient: ask by voice while shopping or on the way to work, and the answer is there right away – without ever opening the app. If you belong to more than one choir, the assistant will ask which choir a request applies to before creating or changing anything.
The assistant always acts only with the permissions the respective account already has in Chorilo. Anyone who can only view events in the app but not create them cannot do so via the AI assistant either.
How to set up the connection
The connection is set up in the settings of the respective AI assistant – under Apps & Connectors in ChatGPT, under Connectors in Claude. After adding the Chorilo connection, you sign in once with your usual credentials and explicitly confirm that the assistant may access your account. Only the account holder can trigger this step; there is no automatic connection without this confirmation.
Once set up, the connection stays in place and works on every device where you use the AI assistant – on the computer just as on your phone. Signing in again is only needed if the connection was removed in the meantime.

Two examples from everyday rehearsal life
Picture a choir director who, shortly before rehearsal, wants to quickly find out who has already confirmed while also sending a short reminder to everyone to bring the sheet music for the new piece. Instead of opening the app, navigating and typing, one sentence to the assistant is enough: "How many people have confirmed for today's rehearsal, and write a short announcement that everyone should bring the sheet music for 'Total Praise'." The assistant reads the attendance figures from Chorilo and drafts the announcement – before it actually goes out to the choir, it asks for confirmation once more.
A choir member, in turn, is sitting on the sofa in the evening and can't quite remember whether the piece being rehearsed next week is already in the sheet music library. A quick question to the assistant – "Do we have sheet music for 'Total Praise'?" – is enough to check, without opening the app and searching yourself.
Deleting remains reserved for the app
Deliberately not possible is deleting events or announcements via the AI assistant. Anyone wanting to remove something still does so directly in Chorilo. This limitation is intentional: it is meant to prevent a misunderstood request from accidentally deleting data that should actually be kept. When creating or changing events and announcements, too, the assistant will usually ask for confirmation once more before actually saving or sending anything – so you keep the final say on those actions as well.
Privacy: you stay in control
The connection is voluntary and set up exclusively by you. The assistant only ever sees what you would also see yourself in the app, and always acts only with your own permissions in your choir – never with those of other members. Names, contact details or attendance lists of other singers stay out of reach, even if you ask about an event many people are attending.
